About the Band

One of the most sought after bassists in town, Grayson Brockamp began his solo project in 2016 with the goal of featuring the best young vocalists in town. He has worked with several incredible singers and he encourages all his bandmates to contribute their vocal talents. What has resulted is a unique blend of strong rhythms, vocal harmonies, and unique arrangements of classic songs.

Since their first gig in 2016, Grayson Brockamp and the New Orleans Wildlife Band have kept busy in the vibrant music community of New Orleans. They released their self-titled EP under Nicholas Payton’s label Paytone Records in 2017. A year later they independently released their LP entitled “A Dream or a Nightmare.” The band performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in the Spring of 2019. The band developed their chemistry while maintaining a weekly residency for over two years at the Marigny Brasserie on Frenchmen Street. The band then signed with Ropeadope Records and they re-released their album "A Dream Or A Nightmare" on April 3, 2020.

Heavily influenced by the Black American Music they grew up on, their current selection of music is informed by the blues, gospel music, and rhythms from all over the world. The band features the vocal talents of all its members, creating intricate 4-part harmonies. They seek to never play a song the same way twice, making every performance a new musical journey.

Most recently, the band continues their weekly residence at the Royal Frenchmen Hotel on Sunday nights at 7pm. These performances feature Grayson Brockamp on bass and vocals, Mark Anthony Thomas on lead vocals, Olivya Lee on flute and vocals, and Ricardo Pascal on saxophone and vocals. The band continues to work to shape their sound in hopes of recording a new album soon.
